North Beach VFD - Line of Duty Death

By Member Jim Richardson
May 26, 2018

On behalf of North Beach Volunteer Fire Department,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the members and officers of the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department announce the Line of Duty Death of our sister, Rescue Captain Patricia Osburn.

This morning while performing her duties as an Emergency Medical Technician, Patricia experienced a medical emergency. Upon arrival at Calvert Health Medical Center she was found unresponsive and resuscitative efforts were immediately initiated.

Unfortunately, all efforts proved unsuccessful and Rescue Captain Osburn was pronounced dead at 0649 hours.

Patrician Ann Osburn joined the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department Oct. 31, 1999 and served 18 years with the department. She received her Emergency Medical Technician certification in 2000 and held the following positions: rescue sergeant, rescue lieutenant and rescue captain. While remaining active operationally, she also served on various committees to contribute selflessly to fundraising, banquets, membership drives and many other vital areas of our volunteer corporation. Her dedication to the department earned her many awards including Top EMS Runner for several years as well as numerous recognitions for saving lives.

Her dedication to serving the community was immense and her influence, and friendship, will be greatly missed by all members and officers of the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department.

She was committed to every citizen of Calvert County. Please keep her friends, family, and members of the NBVFD in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Pat. We'll take it from here.

Funeral Details: TBD
