The Career and Technology Academy is currently planning their 24th Annual SkillsUSA Bowl-A-Thon on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Lord Calvert Bowling Alley, located in Huntingtown, MD. Proceeds from this event will be used to cover expenses needed for the many local, state and national conferences and competitions scheduled for our high school students throughout the school year.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives, working together to ensure America's skilled work force. It helps each student excel. This national organization serves our Career and Technology Academy high school students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations. SkillsUSA is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Labor and is an OSHA Alliance Partner.
We are asking our friends in business to donate money, services or goods to help support this event. Services and goods will be used as door prizes given out during the event. You sponsorship will be advertised in a booklet that is published by the Graphic Arts students at the Career and Technology Academy and will be available to bowlers on the day of the event.
For more information on how to donate or to register to bowl, contact Mrs. Kathy Lisko at the Career and Technology Academy at 410-535-7323 or LiskoK@calvertnet.k12.md.us.
