Red flag warnings are issued by DNR – Forest Services and broadcasted by the National Weather Service. This warning means that there is an increased risk for potential ignition and spread of wild & brush fires. Red flag warnings come with high winds, low humidity and dry conditions.

During red flag warnings you must wait until 8:00pm to open air burn in addition to following all other regulations for your jurisdiction.

If you live within the town limits of Chesapeake Beach, North Beach or within the Chesapeake Ranch Estates you can never open air burn.
