Calvert County Fire-Rescue-EMS would like to personally thank the men and women behind the scenes answering the call. While you do not see dispatchers the way you do Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement on the streets they are working 24/7/365 providing callers with a calm voice and reassurance that the help needed is on the way.

These dedicated men and women have to be quick thinkers, calm under pressure, master multitaskers as they play a critical role in coordinating resources during an emergency. They often miss holidays, special events and milestones in their families lives serving the public as the true "First" First Responder.
National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is held annually during the second week of April to honor public safety telecommunicators for their commitment service and sacrifice so if you know a dispatcher be sure to thank them for being there to answer the call!
