On Tuesday, May 16th the Board of County Commissioners presented a proclamation to emergency medical services personnel from across Calvert County which proclaimed the week of May 21-27, 2023 be known as Emergency Medical Services Week in Calvert County and extended the appreciation of all Calvert County citizens to all of our emergency medical service providers who go above and beyond the call of duty every day to create positive change in our community with a direct, long-lasting impact.

During the presentation one of our very own, Faith Paris, shared her personal story of how the quick actions of her fellow first responders saved her life during a medical emergency and we are so very grateful she is here today to tell her story.

There were representatives from all Calvert County Volunteer Stations, Fire-Rescue-EMS, Career EMS, Public Safety, Calvert Health, Calvert Communications, and the Calvert County Sheriff's Office to accept the proclamation on behalf of our emergency medical services personnel.

Next week we will be celebrating our EMS providers and encourage everyone to show your appreciation and support for their service to our community next week and all throughout the year.
