Welcoming Our CTA Students Back to the Classroom!

As the new school year begins, we are proud to welcome our Calvert County Volunteer Fire-Rescue-EMS recruits back to the classroom and another year of learning, training, and growth.

To help our recruits start the year prepared for success, each student received a new bookbag filled with essential school supplies.

We are grateful to the County Commissioners, the dedicated instructors and staff at the Calvert County Career and Technology Academy (CTA), our Calvert County Volunteer Fire & Rescue CTA Liaisons, and the many volunteer departments that support this program. Your commitment and partnership play an important role in providing our recruits with the resources, guidance, and hands-on experience they need to succeed.

The Fire-Rescue-EMS program at the CTA is a partnership among the Career and Technology Academy, Calvert County’s volunteer fire-rescue-EMS departments, and local and state government. Through this collaborative program, high school students gain an in-depth understanding of the fire-rescue-EMS profession while developing the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue future career and service opportunities.

Students participate in classroom instruction, developmental assignments, and real-world, on-the-scene observations, while working toward state and national certifications that can provide a strong foundation for future education, employment, and volunteer service.
We look forward to an outstanding school year filled with learning, leadership, hands-on training, and new opportunities. We are excited to see what this next generation of Fire-Rescue-EMS professionals will accomplish!
