Research suggests that not only is cancer a leading cause of death among firefighters but firefighters are also at higher risk of certain types of cancers when compared to the general population.
In an effort to support our local volunteer fire-rescue-ems departments in the reduction of firefighter related cancers, the Calvert County Fire-Rescue-EMS Division presented Huntingtown VFD with a Firefighter Decon Kit. Chief 6, Timmy Clark immediately put the kit in service on Engine 62.
All volunteer fire-rescue-ems departments will be presented with a firefighter decon kit in the foreseeable future.
